SACRED HAVEN COVEN

                  Summer Solstice Sunflower Spell

Solstice Sunflowers will have the power of both summer and winter, giving us beauty throughout the growing season and seeds for our birds during the winter.  Though we are at the height of summer and the longest day it is also a time of transition and change. It is an in between time, a time of heightened magickal power when nothing is quite as it seems. For though the sun is strong and bright, tonight is when the sunlight begins to decrease.

Summer begins its slow transition to winter, the Earth and all Her beings are aware of this moment of change.

These Sunflowers will embody the sacred flame of both the Winter King and the Summer King.  Let us use the power of this night to charge soil and seeds to produce our beautiful flowers.

You will need:

A plant pot
Potting soil

Some pooh (compost or manure)
Sunflower seeds
Water

Prepare, Plant, Water, Bless…

Stir the Pooh into the soil, and chant:

Prepare the Seeds, Prepare the Soil,
Prepare the Pooh to help them grow.

And when the flowers are ripe and big,

The birds prepare to eat like pigs.

The Oak King does his shining thing,
With longer days than in the spring.
Prepare the Seeds, Prepare the Soil,
Prepare the Pooh to help them grow.

Put the soil mixture into the pot.

Plant the sunflower seeds and chant:

Plant the Seeds into the Soil,
Add the Pooh to help them grow.
And when the flowers are ripe and big,
The birds get ready to eat like pigs.
The Oak King does his shining thing,
With longer days than in the spring.
Plant the Seeds into the Soil,
Add the Pooh to help them grow.

Water the seed pot and chant:

Water the Seeds, Water the Soil,
Water the Pooh to help them grow.
And when the flowers are ripe and big,
The birds get ready to eat like pigs.
The Oak King does his shining thing,
With longer days than in the spring.
Water the Seeds, Water the Soil,
Water the Pooh to help them grow.

Empower the seeds, soil, & pooh and chant:

Bless the Seeds and Bless the Soil,
Bless the Pooh to help them grow.
And when the flowers are ripe and big,
The birds are ready to eat like pigs.
The Sun God does his shining thing,
With longer days than in the spring.
Bless the Seeds and Bless the Soil,

Bless the Pooh to help them grow.
